AFCON 2023 has been filled with shock for most of the big names in African football.
Hosts Ivory Coast are currently outside of the top two after a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Equatorial Guinea, as are the likes of Ghana, Cameroon, Algeria, Tunisia and Zambia.
Virtually all the teams have played at least twice, but only a handful have managed to qualify for the knockout stages so far.
There is still a long way to go, and lots of shock waiting on the cards.
The following teams have qualified for the AFCON last 16:
- Cape Verde
- Senegal
- Equatorial Guinea
- Nigeria
- Egypt
Some of the big names might be able to wiggle their way to the last 16, either ways; more shocks lay ahead even for fans.
