The Headies 2021: Fireboy, Omah Lay, Bad Boy Timz Win First-ever Award

22 Feb 2021

The 14th edition of the prestigious Headies Awards has gone down for 2021 and will be remembered for a long time being the first virtual experience of the awards little thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was quite difficult but interesting putting this year’s awards together virtually, Ayo Animashaun, the chief organiser of the award ceremony said.

The nominees for the awards were announced in December 2020, with Fireboy DML leading with nine nominations, while Burnaboy, Davido, Wizkid and Wurld followed with six nominations each.

Wizkid bagged the Nigerian artiste of the year at the 14th edition of The Headies award.

Wizkid also won the Headies Viewers’ Choice award at the event which was hosted by comedian, Bovi and Nancy Isime.

This edition witnessed fast-rising singers like Fireboy DML, Bad Boy Timz and Omah Lay receive their first plaque.
