Buhari Wins the Presidential Elections

27 Feb 2019

Hi Folks,

So, its celebrations galore in Nigeria following several long days spent collating results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).   President Muhammadu Buhari was declared winner of the 2019 Presidential elections and any anxieties that were hanging over Nigeria in the past weeks and months have finally been laid to rest.

President Muhammadu Buhari polled more than 15M votes while former Vice President Atiku Abubakar chased closely with more than 11M making him the second choice of the people.

Nigerians took to the streets to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari’s (PMB) victory, particularly in the northern part of the country and interestingly in Abuja where the President elect lost to the opposition. Residents were seen gyrating to music and drinking in celebration.

The national leader of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu advised all true democrats to respect and accept the results as declared.

With this victory, experts are now saying that PMB should go back to the drawing board to address the most pressing issues that will help Nigeria move forward. Many want the President to address the issues of national restructuring to enable an even distribution of our commonwealth.

What remains to be seen, is how these results will impact the forthcoming gubernatorial  elections. Will it follow the old patterns or will the trend go the way of the presidential elections which showed a completely new pattern in Nigerian election history? Please share your thoughts.

Remember to make someone smile today, wherever, whenever.

Sincerely,

Ilupeju B
