“FRIDAY” AND “HOUSE PARTY” ACTOR, ANTHONY JOHNSON DIES AT AGE OF 55

Anthony Johnson, a comedian and actor best known for his appearances in 1990’s House Party and 1995’s Friday, has died. He was 55 years old.

Johnson’s rep, LyNea Bell, confirmed the actor’s death to The Hollywood Reporter, and while no further details were published, Bell told The Hollywood Reporter that “We lost a symbol. He’ll be sorely missed.”

Johnson, who has previously been in Menace II Society, Lethal Weapon 3, and the I Got The Hook-Up film series, co-starred with Kid ‘n Play in House Party as E.Z.E. (he would also appear in House Party 3) and is best known for his role as the funny Ezal, Along with Ice Cube and Chris Tucker, he was a known best for his slip-and-fall in an attempt to secure an injury payout on Friday.

 

Johnson was most recently cast as Gold Grillz in the 2019 short film Shorty Betta Go 2 Work — Grandma Huttie’s Boyfriend.
