SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT: STAR-STUDDED LINE-UPS FOR KANU CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCH

  • PLAYERS FROM ARSENAL, MAN UNITED, TOTTENHAM, LIVERPOOL AND MORE, COMING TOGETHER TO SUPPORT THE CHARITY MATCH
  • PREMIER LEAGUE MASTERS TO FACE AFRICAN ALL STARS AT BARNET F.C. ON SUNDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER 2018
  • MATCH SET UP TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE KANU HEART FOUNDATION, WHICH AIMS TO BUILD NEW CARDIAC CENTRE IN NIGERIA

The Petrolex Kanu Cup in association with Masters FootballTM aims to raise money for the Kanu Heart Foundation and provide children in Africa with life-saving heart operations. Kicking off on Sunday 30th September 2018 at The Hive Stadium in Barnet, Kanu has teamed up with footballing stars from the Premier League and African football to help support the charity. 

The Premier League Masters squad will see ex-players of Arsenal, Newcastle, Tottenham, Liverpool, West Ham and more. The team features Jens Lehmann, Sol Campbell, Pascal Chimbonda, Nigel Winterburn, Phil Babb, William Gallas, Wes Brown, Steve McManaman, Jonathan Greening, David Thompson, Robert Pires, Teddy Sheringham, Louis Saha and Emile Heskey 

On the other side, African All-Stars squad will see a stellar line-up including players from Chelsea, Man City, Man United, Arsenal. They line-up with Rami Shaaban, Lauren, Danny Shittu, Kolo Toure, George Boateng, Emmanuel Eboue, Eric Djemba Djemba, Quinton Fortune, Jay Jay Okocha, Yakubu, Lomana LuaLua and Daniel Amokachi. 

Nigerian and Arsenal legend, Kanu will be featuring for both teams during the match, playing one half for each. He commented, “The Petrolex Kanu Cup in association with Masters FootballTM is an opportunity to bring people together to see some amazing players – and my great friends – play the beautiful game once more, whilst also raising money for a good cause. I cannot wait to share the full teams and for the game to kick off!” 

 “Since retiring from football, the Kanu Heart Foundation has been my biggest passion. It is amazing to be in a position to have helped over 500 children within and outside Nigeria gain access to vital heart operations, having suffered from heart conditions myself – but I want to do more.”
