Israel Adesanya joins commentary team for Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr.

Israel Adesanya is bringing his gift of gab to the boxing world.

As part of a spectacle headlined by an exhibition bout between heavyweight legends Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., which takes place at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Nov. 28, Adesanya will join all-time great boxer “Sugar” Ray Leonard and veteran broadcaster Al Bernstein on the commentary desk for the event.

Adesanya’s involvement was announced via a press release after an initial report by Sports Illustrated.

Bernstein is to handle play-by-play of the action, while Adesanya and Leonard will provide analysis. The reigning UFC middleweight champion is part of a star-studded broadcast team that also includes Jim Gray on interviews, Mario Lopez on hosting duties, and Michael Buffer serving as the ring announcer for the main event between Tyson and Jones.

Adesanya has emerged as one of the UFC’s most prominent faces, winning all nine of his bouts for the promotion thus far and capturing the middleweight championship, while also generating plenty of headlines with his larger-than-life personality. In his most recent fight at UFC 253, he dominated rival Paulo Costa en route to a second-round TKO finish and is next expected to challenge UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz.

The Tyson-Jones undercard features bouts between YouTube star Jake Paul and former NBA dunk contest king Nate Robinson, Badou Jack and Blake McKernon, and Viddal Riley and former UFC fighter Rashad Coulter.

The event will be available on pay-per-view for $49.99 on TysonOnTriller.com, as well as through cable and satellite providers.
