Hi Folks,
Day one of easing the lockdown order in Nigeria spells an impending danger with the unpalatable pictures making the rounds.
President Muhammadu Buhari announced the easing of the lockdown order in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja in a nationwide address on April 27th.
The announcement was followed by mixed reactions with some folks agreeing that it was a step in the right direction and others condemning the action.
On one hand, if all things were equal and the people adhered to given instructions; then there wouldn’t be any cause for alarm.
With the kind of pictures and videos making the rounds on social media, there is every reason to worry. The social distancing order is being flagrantly abused, nose masks are worn wrongly and there were fisticuffs in some instances.
The situation is best expressed as depicted across social media platforms. See Twitter reports below;

Dear Nigerian govt, I hope and pray that you don’t live to regret this move of opening up the system way too early.
I believe that your intentions might be pure, but our citizens are so unruly and disorderly. This just looks like a disaster waiting to happen.?

With these sort of situation, one can only wonder what the coming days has in stock for Nigerians. As a dear brother, I sincerely want to implore you to stay at home if it is not a matter of life and death. It is the healthy and the living that can transact business.
Despite the easing of the lock down, many remain hungry; do the best within your power to bring smiles to their faces by supporting with whatever you can.
Stay safe!
Yours,
Ilupeju B
